Sellmer advent calendar: gems for the pre-Christmas period
"Home of Advent Calendar". Even US presidents Nixon and Eisenhower were photographed with Sellmer advent calendars. The versatile publishing programme includes around 140 calendars in various formats. There are also special productions on request, for example as advertising material. 50 per cent of the company is now in the international market and there is even a sales office in England. Sellmer Verlag has replaced manual work with automation in many areas, but it has much to do with the loving design and care with which the popular products from Stuttgart are manufactured, but nothing has changed.
"It is such a beautiful product, the enthusiasm for it has been passed down from generation to generation," explains Annette Sellmer, who explains why all family members have remained loyal to the Christmas calendar throughout the company's more than 70-year history. Frank Sellmer's wife is responsible for the publisher's public relations. The nostalgic cityscapes, cosy Christmas scenes, romantic snow landscapes with Father Christmas and religious motifs of the advent calendars, which are especially popular in England, have one thing in common: they are designed and manufactured with care and great attention to detail. "According to our company philosophy, what can be seen behind the doors must match the motif on the front of the calendar," says Annette Sellmer.
