ABOUT THE ARTIST, JANNEKE BRINKMAN: Janneke Brinkman (born 1948) is a specialist in botanical painting. She completed her studies in biology at the Free University in Amsterdam. There she discovered her talent for drawing very precisely and in detail. She challenges herself to get flowers botanically right on paper. Most of all, she loves harmoniously combining science and art. She uses the watercolour technique because it is very suitable for rendering the bright colours of flowers and plants well.
